For what purposes does ECOCMALAGA2026 use the personal data of Users?

In the case of the registration forms, the data provided will be processed for the purpose of registration, communications and accommodation management for the 52nd European Conference on Optical Communication and/or in order to provide any other service contracted by the User.
In the case of the contact form, postal communications, e-mails and telephone calls, or the use of any other form or functionality enabled on the Portal, the data provided will be processed to satisfy the legitimate interests pursued by ECOCMALAGA2026, such as, in general, providing the information requested by Users, dealing with their queries or requests, as well as for any other purpose referred to in the forms and functionalities offered at any given time through the Portal.
With the User’s prior authorisation, their personal data will be processed for the purpose of sending them, by any means, including electronic means (email, SMS, etc.), commercial communications about products or services offered by ECOCMALAGA2026.
Recipients of personal data
ECOCMALAGA2026 will communicate the personal data of Users when it is necessary for the performance of the contract and for the fulfilment of legal obligations to which our company is subject. Specifically, the data will be transferred to Viajes El Corte Inglés, S.A., a commercial company domiciled in Madrid, C/ Hermosilla, nº112, and N.I.F. A-28229813, which provides technical secretarial services for the ECOC2026 conference, for the sole purpose of conference management .
How long will we keep your data?
In case of data collected through registration forms, the personal data will be processed only for the time necessary to provide the contracted services.
In the case of data collected through the contact form, postal communications, e-mails and telephone calls, or the use of any other form or functionality enabled at any time on the Portal, only for the time necessary to deal with each specific query or request made by Users or the purpose for which the form in question was intended.
When the User has given his/her consent to receive commercial communications, ECOCMALAGA2026 will keep his/her data until the User revokes said consent.
Once the aforementioned periods have expired, the personal data of the Users may be blocked and kept by ECOCMALAGA2026 for the purpose of attending to any possible liabilities arising from the processing and only during the period of limitation of such liabilities. Once this period has elapsed, the personal data will be deleted by ECOCMALAGA2026.
How do I update my personal data?
The User guarantees that the personal data provided to ECOCMALAGA2026 through this Portal is true, correct, current and complete. The User is responsible for notifying ECOCMALAGA2026 of any modification or update of the same, by sending a communication to the postal or electronic addresses provided in the section “How do I exercise my rights” and following the indications contained therein.
What happens if I provide ECOCMALAGA2026 with data of third parties?
